Threshold DAS  is seeking freelance qualified tutors who are passionate and enthusiastic, to deliver a range of Agored Cymru Qualifications and Modules in a wide range of different subject areas, to individuals who are economically inactive. The course will be delivered at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.

Areas of particular interest include: Mindfulness, Welsh, Environment, Literacy, Creative Writing, but other areas of expertise will be considered.

Early Family Intervention Programme – (E-FIP)

Threshold DAS is a charity that supports individuals and their children affected by domestic abuse. Threshold has reached an exciting point in its development by using a holistic family approach. As part of this expansion we are seeking to appoint dynamic individuals who have experience of working with challenging individuals, families and perpetrators of domestic abuse; to enable them to break the cycle of domestic abuse and sexual violence. The primary focus of this programme will be on the safety of women and their children.

Are you an expert in Moodle? Can you use your Moodle experience and teach others how to become an expert in Moodle?

The Digital Learning Officer is a key role within the LIFE YOU WANT team. The successful candidate will be providing support to the Learning Technologists in maintaining blended module content for all courses. Candidates must have knowledge of a virtual learning environment such as Moodle, skills in image and video editing software, excellent written and spoken communication skills, an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, and the ability to work accurately under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Additional essential and desirable criteria are listed in the Role Profile. This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and will be offered on a temporary basis but with the possibility of becoming permanent. Post offered until 20th November 2020. Job share arrangements may be considered.

You will be working in a busy and vibrant education and training department of which you will be assisting with the development and support of the organisations Virtual Learning System (Moodle)

Children and Young Peoples Dedicated Crisis Counsellor will be based at 12-14 John Street, Llanelli and is a 30 hour a week post.

WHO WE ARE?

Threshold DAS (formerly Llanelli Women’s Aid Ltd) was founded in 1984, by a group of volunteers. In 1985 the first refuge was established.

In 2013 we became an accredited Agored Cymru Centre and secured European Social Funding (ESF), allowing us to deliver educational programmes for individuals, aiming to reduce economic inactivity in Carmarthenshire and convergence areas.

In August 2014 we were successful in our application to the Big Lottery for a 3-year Early Family Intervention Project, this allowed us to diversify our service further to work holistically with the whole family including perpetrators.

We have several projects working with children and young people.

The Children and Young Peoples Dedicated Crisis Counsellor is funded by Children in Need until March 2024.

About you: 

Empowering people from all walks of life is what we are all about, so we are keen to hear from people in disadvantaged or underrepresented groups. Whatever your background, it is essential that the person has a Counselling degree or equivalent, alongside at least five years of counselling experience working with children and young people.

Equally importantly, you should be exceptionally organised and methodical.

The Role

The children and young person’s counsellor will provide support to young people who require crisis intervention counselling or therapeutic play (if age appropriate) from 5 to 19 years old. The aim of the post is to reduce the harmful effects of disruptive behaviour, self-harming, or substance misuse and to maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle for young people who have been or are affected by Domestic Abuse or Sexual Violence.

 

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and has the ability to work under their own volition. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in what can be a challenging environment.

 

The counsellor will be required to work Saturdays and at least two or three evenings a week
