Training

Threshold has a well-known and comprehensive programme of training available for professionals who wish to gain knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence to access.
Courses are delivered by a specialist team of trainers who have been delivering domestic violence and abuse training in South Wales for over 12 years.
The aim of these programmes is to raise awareness and explore potential ways of dealing with the issue in your professional practice.
However, you need to be aware that the subject matter is powerful and can at times be challenging.

Why Threshold DAS?

As a recognised expert in supporting individuals experiencing domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, our courses will help you to develop your skills and knowledge in a number of specialist issues, including engaging and supporting: women, men, children and young people domestic abuse, sexual violence, mental ill-health and safeguarding.

How and where is training delivered?

Individuals can attend courses that are delivered in a range of location in Carmarthenshire, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Pembrokeshire, .

Alternatively, we can come to your organisation and deliver training in-house. This can be training tailored to your organisation’s need.

All courses are delivered by our specialist highly qualified  training team.

Additional Short Courses

Clare’s Law – Information Session.
The aim of Clare’s Law is to give you a formal mechanism to make inquiries about your partner if you are worried that they may have been abusive in the past. Attending the session will give you a better understanding of what’s involved, and more information about how to go about asking for a disclosure.

Introduction to Twitter and Facebook Level 1.
The world of social media is progressing……… In this session you will be guided through the key functions of the social media site. From the pros to the cons, to help to keep yourself safe.

How much does training cost?
Individual places cost from £55 per person for a full day, and from £35 for a half day.

Courses can be delivered in house from £400 per day.
