LIMITLESS

Background to LIMITLESS

Four years ago, at a team meeting, it was agreed that Threshold, needed to find a way of not only offering support and safety to women but also a way of offering them opportunities to turn their lives around.  We were seeing more and more women coming back to Threshold – some with a different alleged perpetrator, some who had been in refuge as children, but were now victims/survivors requiring support, and others looking for meaningful training opportunities to help them move forward with their lives.

In 2013 we launched the educational arm of Threshold DAS.  Threshold DAS are very fortunate that we currently hold a number of Educational and Employability contracts that support those who are unemployed and economically inactive, however, we found that there were many women who wanted to access our courses who were ineligible, because they were working or on a zero hour contract.

And so LIMITLESS was born……………..

LAUNCH

LIMITLESS will be launched in May 2019 after a seven month mobilisation period.  LIMITLESS will take referrals immediately, but courses will not start until 1st May 2019. Please email in the first instance to LIMITLESS@Threshold-Das.org.uk if you are interesting in joining our mailing list or would like further details.

LIMITLESS is an educational programme of support funded by the Welsh European Social Fund under Priority 2, Skills for Growth Wales: Specific Objective 4

Women 18 and over, who are working, or on a zero hour contract are eligible.  Women have to be living or working in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Caerphilly, Torfaen or Blaenau Gwent.

LIMITLESS is made up of three strands.

Strand 1: WEB: Women Exploring Business Programme

WEB course is designed to inspire women to set up their own business.  It is an eight-day practical programme (one day per week, over eight weeks) that provides women with the tools to set up a service or develop a product.  They learn about all aspects of self-employment including marketing, finance, tax, selling, marketing, design, image etc.  On day seven they will have the opportunity to go out into the community and sell the product or service they have developed.  We will hire a market stall for them to do this.  The programme also allows them to achieve two Agored Cymru Qualifications, at a range of academic levels.

Strand 2: WISH: Women’s Integrated Support Hub

WISH will offer individually tailored support packages to build confidence and self-esteem.  WISH offers a large range of courses across different subject areas.

LIMITLESS is dedicated to providing a learner-centred curriculum and we are happy to deliver training based on the wishes and suggestions of women themselves.

Examples include: Volunteering, Salsa dancing, Community Development, Jewellery Making, Mindfulness, Pottery, Photography, Retail, Education, Customer Service, Social Care, Administration work, Working in the Third Sector, Sports and Leisure,

Criminal Justice, Catering, Heritage, Media and IT, Entrepreneurship, Arts & Crafts, and the Environment

WISH is open to all women regardless of their backgrounds, needs or abilities. The courses range from Entry Level up to Level 4.

Strand 3: Qualification: Supporting the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Sector through Volunteering

LIMITLESS is working with the VAWDASV Team in Welsh Government and Agored Cymru to develop a qualification at levels 2 and 3 (Award and Extended Award) aimed at volunteers working in the Domestic Abuse and or Sexual Violence Sector. This will include survivors and ex-service users but will also be available to others who are interested in getting into support work.  We hope that it will complement the plans of the VAWDASV team to develop a National Survivor Engagement Framework.

OVER ARCHING

  • up-skilling,

Cefndir LIMITLESS

Bedair blynedd yn ôl, mewn cyfarfod tîm, cytunwyd bod angen i Threshold ddod o hyd i ffordd o gynnig cymorth a diogelwch i fenywod yn ogystal â chanfod ffordd o gynnig cyfleoedd iddynt droi eu bywydau o gwmpas. Roeddem yn gweld mwy a mwy o fenywod yn dod nôl i Threshold – rhai â drwgweithredwyr honedig gwahanol, rhai wedi bod mewn lloches fel plant, ond erbyn hyn yn ddioddefwyr/goroeswyr oedd angen cymorth, ac eraill yn chwilio am gyfleoedd hyfforddi ystyrlon i’w helpu i symud ymlaen gyda’u bywydau.

Yn 2013, lansiwyd cangen addysgol Threshold DAS. Mae Threshold DAS yn ffodus iawn bod gennym nifer o gontractau Addysgol a Chyflogadwyedd ar hyn o bryd sy’n cefnogi’r rhai sy’n ddi-waith ac yn economaidd anweithgar, serch hynny, gwelwyd bod yna lawer o fenywod oedd eisiau cael mynediad i’n cyrsiau ddim yn gymwys, oherwydd eu bod yn gweithio neu ar gontract dim oriau.

A dyna sut dechreuodd LIMITLESS ……………

LANSIO

Fel man cychwyn, e-bostiwch LIMITLESS@Threshold-Das.org.uk os oes gennych ddiddordeb ymuno â’n rhestr bostio neu os hoffech fwy o fanylion.

Mae LIMITLESS yn rhaglen gymorth addysgol sy’n cael ei hariannu gan Gronfa Gymdeithasol Ewrop o dan Flaenoriaeth 2, Sgiliau Twf Cymru: Amcan Penodol 4

Mae menywod 18 oed a throsodd, sy’n gweithio, yn hunangyflogedig neu ar gontract dim oriau yn gymwys. Rhaid i fenywod fod yn byw neu’n gweithio yn Sir Gaerfyrddin, Sir Benfro, Caerffili, Torfaen neu Flaenau Gwent.

Mae LIMITLESS yn cynnwys tair elfen.

Elfen 1: WEB: Rhaglen Menywod yn Archwilio Busnes

Mae cwrs WEB wedi’i gynllunio i ysbrydoli menywod i sefydlu eu busnesau eu hunain. Mae’n gwrs ymarferol wyth diwrnod (un diwrnod yr wythnos, dros wyth wythnos) sy’n rhoi’r sgiliau i fenywod sefydlu gwasanaeth neu ddatblygu cynnyrch. Maen nhw’n dysgu am bob agwedd ar fod yn hunangyflogedig, gan gynnwys marchnata, cyllid, treth, gwerthu, marchnata, dylunio, delwedd ac ati. Ar y seithfed diwrnod, bydd cyfle i fynd i’r gymuned a gwerthu’r cynnyrch neu’r gwasanaeth maen nhw wedi’i ddatblygu. Byddwn yn llogi stondin yn y farchnad er mwyn iddyn nhw allu gwneud hynny. Mae’r rhaglen hefyd yn caniatáu iddyn nhw gael dau Gymhwyster Agored Cymru, ar ystod o lefelau academaidd.

Elfen 2: WISH: Hwb Cymorth Integredig i Fenywod

Bydd WISH yn cynnig pecynnau cymorth unigol sydd wedi’u teilwra i feithrin hyder a hunan-barch. Mae WISH yn cynnig amrywiaeth eang o gyrsiau ar draws meysydd a phynciau gwahanol.

Mae LIMITLESS wedi ymroi i ddarparu cwricwlwm sy’n canolbwyntio ar y dysgwr ac rydym yn hapus i ddarparu hyfforddiant sy’n seiliedig ar ddymuniadau ac awgrymiadau menywod eu hunain.

Mae’r enghreifftiau yn cynnwys: Gwirfoddoli, Dawnsio Salsa, Datblygu Cymunedol, Creu Gemwaith, Ymwybyddiaeth Ofalgar, Crochenwaith, Ffotograffiaeth, Manwerthu, Addysg, Gwasanaethau Cwsmer, Gofal Cymdeithasol, Gweinyddu, Gweithio yn y Trydydd Sector, Chwaraeon a Hamdden, Cyfiawnder Troseddol, Arlwyo, Treftadaeth, y Cyfryngau a TG, Entrepreneuriaeth, Celf a Chrefft, a’r Amgylchedd.

Elfen 3: Cefnogi’r Sector Cam-drin Domestig a Thrais Rhywiol drwy Wirfoddoli

Bydd LIMITLESS yn gweithio gyda Thîm VAWDASV Llywodraeth Cymru ac Agored Cymru i ddatblygu cymhwyster lefel 2 a 3 (Dyfarniad a Dyfarniad Estynedig) sydd wedi’i anelu at wirfoddolwyr sy’n gweithio yn y Sector Cam-drin Domestig a Thrais Rhywiol. Bydd hyn yn cynnwys goroeswyr a chyn-ddefnyddwyr gwasanaethau, ond bydd hefyd ar gael i eraill sydd â diddordeb mewn gwaith cymorth. Gobeithiwn y bydd yn ategu cynlluniau tîm VAWDASV i ddatblygu Fframwaith Cenedlaethol ar gyfer Ymgysylltu â Goroeswyr.
